LALMONIRHAT: A battalion commander level flag meeting between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) is set to be held on Monday morning over different bilateral issues.
Lalmonirhat-31 BGB battalion sources told banglanews, the meeting will be held at Gotamari Govt Primary School play ground near Gotamari border area under Hatibanda Upazila.
Battalion commander of the sector Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Salahuddin would lead Bangladesh team while Cooch Behar-21 BSF battalion commanding officer Lt Col Hardeb Singh to lead the Indian delegation, the sources added.
Besides, staff officers in battalion level of both sides will also attend the meeting.
Source said the meeting will discuss different issues especially smuggling through the border, women and child trafficking problem and security of dwelling people in the bordering areas.
Confirming the matter, Lalmonirhat-31 BGB battalion deputy commanding officer Major Ruhul Amin told banglanews, “The flag meeting is set to be held at 10am to dissolve different problems in border areas.”
