Nilphamari: A district court on Wednesday sentenced three people, including two of a family to life term imprisonment for allegedly running drug business.
They are-- Aslam Hossain, 35, his wife Rana Begum and Rana’s brother Alam Hossian, 25.
District Judge Jeb-un-Nessa passed the order after hearing the allegation against the accused.
According to the case statement, acting on a tip-off, a team of police led by Syedpur circle`s narcotics department SI Anwarul Karim raided the house of Aslam on November 7 in 2008 and held Rana along with 31 bottles of phensidyl.
Later, police arrested Aslam and his brother-in-law Alam in this connection.
