15 HC judges sworn in

DHAKA: A total of 15 newly appointed High Court judges took oath Sunday, substantially shoring up the strength of the bench.

Chief justice M Mozammel Hossain administrated them oath at the auditorium of Supreme Court’s Annex C Building at about 10:30am while registrar M Shamsul Islam moderated the swearing-in ceremony.

The Judges are— Justice M Faruq, Justice M Shawkat Hossain, Justice FRM Nazmul Ahsan, Justice Krishna Debnath, Justice ANM Bashirullah, Justice Abdur Rob, Justice Kazi Reza-ul-Haq, Justice M Abu Zafar Siddiqui, Justice AKM Zahirul Haque, Justice Jahangir Hossain, Justice Sheikh M Zakir Hossain, Justice M Habibul Gani, Justice Govinda Chandra Thakur, Justice Sheikh Hasan Arif and Justice JBM Hasan.
 
Earlier, they were appointed on April 11. The president has made the appointment as per article 95 of the constitution.
