DHAKA: A 2011 Hollywood blockbuster fantasy film ‘Immortals’ hits Star Cineplex in Basundhara Shopping Mall in city’s Panthapath area.
The film, premiered Thursday evening, is scheduled for screening at 11:20am, 1:45pm, 4:15pm and 7:00pm from June 22 onwards.
Directed by Tarsem Singh and starring Henry Cavill, Freida Pinto, and Mickey Rourke, ‘Immortal’ is a 3D film. But the Cineplex organisers are screening the film in 35mm format at their hall.
According to the Wikipedia, the film was previously named ‘Dawn of War’ and ‘War of the Gods’ before being officially named ‘Immortals’.
It was released in 2D and in 3D (using the Real D 3D and Digital 3D formats) on November 11 in 2011 by Universal Pictures and Relativity Media in the USA.
Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Star Cineplex’s manager, media and marketing division told banglanews24.com that they hoped for a good response from the audience.
‘The film ‘Immortal’ has done good business worldwide. We hope it will also get good response from audience in our country,’ Ahmed added.
The film is very loosely based on the Greek myths of Theseus and the Minotaur and the Titanomachy.
