13-day theatre fest begins at TSC

DHAKA: The thirteen-day Dhaka University 7th central annual theatre festival will begin November 23 at the university’s Teacher-Student Centre in city.

A total of 17 plays will be staged during the festival, to be organised by Dhaka University’s theatre department.

Theatre departments of Jahangirnagar University, Chittagong University and the organising university and a theatre group from Italy will take part at the festival.

On the inaugural day, Dhaka University’s theatre department will stage Buddhadev Basu’s ‘Pratham Partha’, to be directed by Ahmedul Kabir.

DU theatre department will stage Munier Chowdhury’s ‘Military’, to be directed by Sumaiya Binte Rayhan and Harold Pinter’s ‘One for the Road’, translated and to be directed by Sanjib Kumar Dey on November 24.

The festival will continue till December 5.
