DHAKA: The teachers and students of Dhaka University (DU) will observe the `University Black Day` on August 28 marking the atrocities by law enforcement agencies from August 20-23 in 2007.
This year the day will be observed on August 28 instead of August 23 as the offices and classes of the university will remain closed on the day marking the Eid-ul-fitr vacation.
The university authorities have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the `Black Day` protesting mass arrests of students and teachers of the university following a campus protests.
No class will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on August 28.
A discussion meeting will be held at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium with Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique in the chair on the day.
