NOAKHALI: Opposition BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed MP said the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is not independent as the commission works following directives of the government.
The BNP leader came up with the allegation in a views exchange meeting with the newly elected leaders of Swechhasebok Dal of Kabirhat upazila at his resident in the upazila Monday.
It is a big challenge to ensure the voting rights of the people to protect country’s democracy, sovereignty, he said.
Moudud asked the BNP leaders to protest the misrule, repression of the incumbent government.
Kabirhat upazila BNP president Golam Haider BSc, general secretary Liton Chowdhury, upazila Jubo Dal convener Hasan Mahbub Tansen, Swechhasebok Dal convener Naimul Islam Nayeem, joint convener Abdul Baset Hiran also spoke.
