DHAKA: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami decided to observe half-day hartal in capital as Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) called upon the party to cut off hartal for their annual programme.
But, the party will observe dawn-to-dust hartal across the country.
Earlier, the association urged Jamaat at a press conference to withdraw hartal in Dhaka as its annual feast is scheduled to be held in the day.
Advocate Zaibul Abedin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Earlier in the day, Jamaat called countrywide dawn-to-dusk hartal demanding stopping war crimes trial and release of its top detained leaders.
The party also claimed that they called hartal as they were not given permission to stage a protest procession in the capital on Wednesday.
