GAZIPUR : Sub-inspector Nitin Chandra Dey of Kaliganj Thana was suspended for his alleged involvement with the killing of a Juba League activist in police custody.
Kaliganj Thana OC MD Anayet Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
But no case was filed in this connection, banglanews correspondent reports.
Earlier on Tuesday night, an accused named Md. Mamun Bhuiyan, 32, son of Hussain Ali was allegedly killed in the police custody at Kaliganj Thana.
Mamun’s brother-in law Mosharaf Hossain told banglanews, “Nitin Chandra Dey picked up Mamun from the Baragaon Bazzar under Muktapur union at about 7:30pm on Tuesday.”
Later, he (Mamun) was found dead at the thana premises when Mosharaf went there to meet him on Wednesday morning.
