RU: The bullet wounded BCL activists of Rajshahi University Sohel Rana was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital from Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Monday morning as his condition deteriorated.
BCL general Secretary of RU unit Abu Hossain Bipu confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said Sohel received bullet in his head and his condition is very critical.
However, BCL organizing secretary of RU unit Touhid al Tuhin denied it and said, “He sustained injury as rival group threw brick chips towards him.”
But, Mothihar thana OC Anisuzzaman said, “Sohel sustained bullet injury. But, any case is yet to be filed in this connection.”
Two BCL factions exchanged fire at Rajshahi University early Monday over establishing supremacy on the campus, leaving two BCL activists Sohel and Imran injured.
At least 15 rounds of bullets were exchanged during the gunfight between the supporters of RU Chhatra League President Ahmed Ali and General Secretary Abu Hossain Bipu at Madar Baksh Hall at about 12:15am.
On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
Later, they raided different students’ hall. But, police did not find anything. Additional police have been deployed on the campus to avert further untoward situation, police sources said.
