Diganta TV shut in Comilla

COMILLA: The local cable operators of Comilla city suspended telecasting of private television channel Diganta TV expressing their solidarity to the Shahbagh demonstration.

Sources said the telecast of the channel will remain suspended for indefinite period from Sunday.

Thousands of protesters from city’s Shahbagh area thanked the cable operators for taking the decision and expressing solidarity to the ongoing movement.

Thousand of people are staging their demonstration at Shahbagh to press home their demand of death penalty of Jamaat leader Quader Mollah for his involvement in crimes against humanity during liberation war in 1971.
