DHAKA: Chief Electric Engineer of Railway East region Saba Uddin was transferred on charge of negligence in duty as per direction of communications and railway minister Obaidul Quader.
The minister has taken the action noticing rail passengers’ sufferings due to disfunct light and fan of a compartment during his visit to Kamalapur Railaway Station in the morning.
The minister also directed the authority concerned to suspend attendant Nizam Uddin for selling rail seats illegally.
Besides, senior Sub Assistant Engineer Aminul Islam was suspended and divisional engineer of Dhaka region served show cause notice on charge of negligence in duty.
A meeting presided over by Railway Director General Abu Taher took the decision as per the minister’s direction.
