LALMONIRHAT: Indian Border Security Force gave back a Bangladeshi truck driver on Friday, 16-hour after he was held from Burimari land port zero point.
On Thursday, Choton, 26, son of Amanullah Munshi of Tantipara area in Burimari port was picked up by BSF personnel.
Later, the truck driver was returned at about 11:30am after a commander level flag meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh and Border Security Force (BSF).
Lalmonirhat-31 BGB source told banglanews that Chhoton went to Changrabandha land port customs office with cotton-laden truck. BSF personnel picked up him at zero point while he was returning home.
Earlier, Burimari C&F Agent Association and Chanrabandha C&F Agent Association leader gave 72-hour ultimatum to return the Bangladeshi truck driver. Otherwise, export-import would be stopped through the Burimari land port on Saturday.
