DHAKA: Female students of Bangladesh Agriculture University will leave campus by 8:00 in the morning on Sunday. Male students have already left the campus.
Many of them have taken shelter to the houses of friends or relatives in Mymensingh town. Police are patrolling the almost empty campus.
The BAU was closed for an indefinite period on Saturday following clashes.
On Saturday, a 10-year boy, Rabbi, son of Dulal Mia of Fosiler More area adjacent to the campus was killed in a gunfight between rival factions of Awami League`s student wing BCL`s on the campus.
Following the incident, the angry locals set fire to three halls of the university and at least 24 rooms of the halls gutted in the fire.
Later, fire fighting units from Mymensingh rushed in and doused the blaze.
BAU Chhatra League President Shamsuddin Al Azad and General Secretary Rafiquzzaman Emon was expelled from the party following the incident.
Meanwhile, the locals demonstrated on the campus in protest against the killing.
The university authorities closed the university for indefinite period and ordered the male students to leave the campus by 8:00pm Saturday and the female students by 8:00am on Sunday.
BAU acting proctor Nasrin Sultana said that male students have already left the campus and the female students to leave the campus Sunday morning. Additional number of police have deployed on the campus.
