SATKHIRA: District Bus-Minibus Owners’ Association on Sunday noon called off their indefinite strike for pushing shallow engine-run human haulers from off the roads.
President of Satkhira Bus-Minibus Owners’ Association Saiful Karim Sabu said, “We enforced the strike to press the demand for Nosimon-Karimon-free roads, as the freewheeling smaller vehicles are often blamed for traffic mishaps. But, we called off it at about 12noon after getting assurance from the authority.”
Regarding the matter, district police super Md. Asaduzzaman said, “The Bus-Minibus Owners’ Association has decided to call off the strike after holding a meeting with administration on Sunday noon.”
