DHAKA: Hollywood’s recent blockbuster ‘Skyfall’ will have its Dhaka premiere at Basundhara City Shopping Mall’s Star Cineplex Thursday.
The twenty-third episode in the world famous James Bond series of spy films, ‘Skyfall’ had its London premiere on 23 October, the UK release on 26 October and the USA premiere on November 8.
Just within a month, Bangladesh moviegoers will be getting an opportunity to enjoy this nearly 200-milion-dollar movie in their city cinema hall.
On this occasion, Star Cineplex will arrange a gala programme featuring red carpet show, fashion show, music programme and of course, the screening of the movie.
Local celebrities and foreign diplomats, among others, will join the programmes, inform Cineplex authorities.
The organisers will screen the movie at 11.15am, 2.00pm and 4.45pm on Friday on November 30.
It will be screened at 11.15am, 2.00pm, 4.45pm and 7:30pm on the following days.
Directed by Sam Mendes and performed by Daniel Craig as James Bond and Javier Bardem as Raoul Silva, the film centres on Bond’s investigating on an attack on MI6.
Begun in November 2011, shooting of the film took place in the United Kingdom, China and Turkey.
Both the organisers and movie-lovers celebrated the film’s release across the world as it coincided with the 50th anniversary of the James Bond series, which began with Dr No in 1962.
Critics received the latest bond series ‘Skyfall’ positively and at the box office, it earned nearly $800 million world-wide, and became the highest-grossing film in the Bond series.
