Diamond becomes jury member in an Indian film fest

DHAKA: Bangladesh national award winning filmmaker Syed Ohiduzzaman Diamond has become a jury member in an Indian film festival.

He will work for the three-day Jagran International Film Festival, to be held from September 28 in Delhi.

Diamond thanked the organisers for selecting him as a jury member from Bangladesh saying that this was an honour for a Bangladeshi filmmaker.

‘Bangladeshi filmmakers in previous days were selected jury members in various international film festivals and brightened the image of the country,’ Diamond said.

‘Their presence in other countries as jury board members would encourage the younger filmmakers in Bangladesh to make more better films despite several limitations,’ he hoped.

Diamond earned international reputation for his debut film ‘Nacholer Rani’ and national awards for ‘Gangajatra’.
