DHAKA: A woman was killed and three others were injured when a train hit a private car and auto-rickshaw on Khilgaon rail crossing in the city Friday morning.
The identity of the deceased and injured were could not be known immediately.
Police instantly confirmed that four people died in the accident. Later, they confirmed about one’s death.
Dhaka GRP Thana OC Kazi Alauddin Chowdhury told banglanews, “Lalmonirhat Express train left Kamlapur rail station around 7:30am. A private car and Auto-rickshaw were passing the Khilgaon rail crossing around 7:30 am as they were not aware about level crossing for poor visibility due to thick fog.”
During the time, the train hit the two vehicles, leaving one dead on the spot and three others injured critically.
The body was recovered and the injured were sent to hospital.
