DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed MP said ruling Awami League would have to come back in caretaker government system for the survival of the party, otherwise democracy would be endangered.
The senior BNP leader came up with the assertion at a protest rally in front of the party central office at Nayapaltan demanding release of the detained leaders and activists organized by Dhaka city BNP.
The senior lawyer of the Supreme Court said, “Awami League would be disconnected from political continuity if they can not return in CG system. People will compel AL to meet the demand.”
He also told his audience that the goal of the budget would not be achieved and implemented like the previous national budget of the ruling government.
The protest was also addressed, among other, standing committee members of the party Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia and Mirza Abbas, vice chairman Selima Rahman, joint secretary general Amanullah Aman and Jubo Dal president Advocate Moazzem Hossain Alal.
Later, a namaz-e-janaza for Swechhasebak Dal leader of Laxmipur district Yasin was held in front of the party office.
