DHAKA: The government will implement recommendations of parliamentary standing committee on education ministry to reserve 2 percent quota in all government and non-govt schools for children selected by local lawmakers.
Education Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser came up with the disclosure while talking to journalists at his secretariat office in the city Sunday.
He said, “The proposal of amending existing admission policy will be finalized after talking with the education minister.”
Besides, the ministry from the current academic session (2012) has already introduced two percent admission quota for the children of the officers and employees of the education ministry and teachers of government secondary schools.
A total of 11 percent seats, including five percent for the children and grandchildren of freedom-fighters and two percent for children with disabilities, are already in effect.
The fee of admission form will be within 150 to 200, while admission fee in Bangla Medium will be 8000 and 1000 in English Medium.
The secretary warned of legal action against any kinds of irregularities and violation of ministry order.
