DHAKA: Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) will conduct the third economic census during March-April in 2013.
Newly appointed BBS Director General Golam Mostafa Kamal made the disclosure at a press conference at his office on Thursday.
The objectives of the economic census include updated benchmark information of national income, data on other activities of overall economy, and compilations and analyses of economic activities, said Kamal.
The second economic census was conducted in two phases-in 2001 in urban areas and in 2003 in rural areas while the first one was operated in 1986, he told reporters.
