DHAKA: At least 13 people were killed and 10 others injured across the country as lightning struck them in different districts of the country on Wednesday.
Five people were killed and three others injured as lightning struck them in various upazilas of Chapainawabganj district in the day.
Two construction workers were killed as lightning struck them in front of British High Commission in Gulshan area of the city.
The deceased were identified as Sohel, 19 and Wasim, 18.
Merina Begum, 35, of Balram village of Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha district was killed as lightning struck her on Wednesday noon.
A teenage girl was killed in Kishoreganj upazila of Nilfamari district as lightning struck her.
Besides, two people were killed as lightning struck them at Jhinaigati upazila in Sherpur district.
The deceased were identified as Renu Begum 40 and Abdul Latif 50.
Two youths were killed at Godagari on Rajshahi as lightning struck them in the day.
