DHAKA: Noted writer and soap-opera maker Humayun Ahmed left Dhaka for New York on Saturday morning in order to continue his treatment.
A Qatar Airways flight carrying the ailing writer left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 08:45am.
The writer sought countrymen’s doa for his early recovery.
On May 11, he returned home from New York.
Humayun Ahmed, who was undergoing treatment for colon cancer in New York, USA, stayed at his Nuhash Palli in Gazipur and Dhanmondi residence for 22 days.
Doctors of Baily Hospital, in New York, have fixed June 12 to conduct a surgical operation to remove the tumor of Humayun Ahmed. In the meantime, he was given chemotherapy eight times.
Earlier on September 14, 2011, popular writer Humayun Ahmed flew to New York along with his wife Meher Afroz Shawon, two sons-Nishad and Ninit to take treatment of his colon cancer.
On September 24, he was admitted to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) to take treatment of his colon cancer.
