DHAKA: US Ambassador to Dhaka Dan W Mozena opined that bilateral relation has to be built up between Bangladesh and USA for duty-free entrance of Bangladeshi products.
The US envoy came up with the observation while addressing a discussion meeting arranged by Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) at its office in the city Saturday.
Mozena said a congenial atmosphere should be built up the relation between Bangladesh and USA in order to get duty free entrance.
He also said it only waste of time to appeal to envoy for duty free entrance.
The US envoy also emphasized on the international quality of the products and eradication of corruption.
Bangladesh has the potentialities to top the position in exporting RMG products and some others sectors like shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals and leather goods, Mozena added.
Addressing the discussion DCCI president Asif Ibrahim said, “US companies can import various commodities at cheap rate from Bangladesh.”
Over Trade and Investment Cooperation Framework Agreement (TICFA) agreement, he added: “The discussion should be done in way a way that will benefit both countries.”
The discussion was also attended, among others, by American Chamber of Commerce president Aftab-Ul Islam, former DCCI president Hossain Khaled and Benjir Ahmed.
