SIRAJGANG: An office assistant was killed and 15 others wounded in a clash over land dispute at Porjona union under Sahajadpur upazila in the district on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Hafizur Rahman, 42, son of Karim Sarker of Gigarbaria village.
The injured were sent to different medical centers and clinics of the district for treatment.
Hafizur was injured critically while the opponents attacked him during the clash taken place between the supporters of Ruhul Amin and Karim of the area over grabbing a piece of land and its crops.
Locals said Hafizur was an office assistant at the office of primary and mass education in the district.
Officer-in-Charge of Shahjadpur Thana Motiar Rahman told banglanews that body was recovered and it would be sent to hospital morgue on Tuesday.
