DHAKA: Indian Embassy made the visa procedures easier for the patients who have to visit India for medical purpose urgently.

First Secretary of Political and Information Affairs Sujit Ghosh on Tuesday made the announcement in a press conference at the High Commission in the capital.

Indian High Commission also announced opening of two visa issue centres at Barisal and Mymensingh in the country apart from five centres to make the visa procedure easier.

Sujit Ghosh said online application system for visa was introduced 2 years ago.

He added: “If anyone applys for the visa in online, he/she is given permission to submit fees in 5 to 7 days.”

He said for an emergency state of the patients, they would be able to get the visa more earlier than the regular process.

Cheating by the middlemen in terms of getting Indian visa has come to an end after launching of online visa system in 2010, high commission sources said.

Anyone can normally get a visa within three days, the sources added.
