FROM UKHIA, COX’S BAZAR: Opposition BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia Sunday categorically said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina “can do no welfare for the country”.
She came up with the observation while addressing an affinity rally at Ukhia High School ground at noon.
Mentioning that the government is illegal, he said, “Sheikh Hasina was in parole when she took oath and it was not possible if judiciary enjoyed independence.”
She also said, “Hasian cannot do any welfare of the country as people are being abducted and killed randomly during the regime of the government.”
The former prime minister also alleged that no religion is safe under Awami League government.
Earlier in the day, Khaleda Zia Sunday visited the Paschim Dipankpur Buddhabihar which was affected by communal attacks on September 29 in Ukhia.
Khaleda started her journey on Friday afternoon, 41 days after the attacks on Buddhists by religious zealots.
She visited Ramu upazila where Buddhist temples and houses were damaged during the violence.
Khaleda is scheduled to return to Dhaka on Sunday night.
