DHAKA: At least five godowns of garment scraps and three CNG-run auto rickshaws were gutted in a devastating fire in city’s Mirpur area early Saturday.
Sources said the fire broke out at a godown of garment scraps at Mirpur-13 near Power office at about 12:55 am ad soon engulfed other adjacent godowns and shanties.
Mirpur fire station fireman Faruk Alom told banglaews, “On information, five units of fire fighters rushed in and doused fire at about 3:05am.”
However, the fire brigade could not ascertain the reason behind the blaze. Besides, the extent of damage could not be known immediately.
