DHAKA: A workshop on ‘copyright act’ was held at Jatiya Natyasala Tuesday to bring change in the existing act.
With the collaboration of Bangladesh Copyright and IP Forum, Bangladesh Copyright office and Ministry of Cultural Affairs jointly organized the workshop.
Addressing the workshop, speakers said everybody would be evaluated if the act is executed. The intellectual property right would be reserved as well, they added.
The persons and organizations concerned demanded for the amendment of the existing copyright act during their speech.
They also recommended recruiting a lawyer in the Copyright Board.
With parliamentary standing committee member for cultural affairs Asaduzzaman Nur MP in the chair, Copyright Office Registrar Manjurur Rahman, Bangladesh Computer Samiti President Mostofa Jobbar, IP Forum chief executive ABM Hamidul Mizbah, artist Hamim Ahmed and Maksud, and poet Nurul Huda also spoke.
