DHAKA: Wasfia Nazreen, the second Bangladeshi woman who has conquered the highest peak of the ranges of Mount Everest, returned home Saturday.
She arrived here on a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Her friends, fans and family members received her at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Later she placed wreath to the martyrs of liberation at Rayerbazar Baddhyabhumi in the city.
On May 26, she touched the highest peak at 6:41 am Bangladesh time, Bangladesh Seven Summits` campaign sources said.
Wasfia hoisted the flag of Bangladesh in the morning as the second Bangladeshi women and fourth Bangladeshi on the highest summit of the world.
Earlier one week ago on May 19, Nishat Majumder conquered the Mount Everest as the first Bangladeshi woman.
Moreover, the second ever Bangladeshi conqueror of Everest peak MA Mohit won the Everest for second time with Nishat.
Earlier, Mohit won the Everest through the side of Tibet. Therefore, he is the only Bangali ever who won the Everest from both North and South sides.
Musa Ibrahim is the first Bangladeshi who conquered the Everest on May 23, 2010.
