DHAKA: Investors witnessed gain in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Thursday for the third straight trading day.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index rose over 21 points to stand at 4,572 at the close on the last trading day of the week.
The volume of transactions also increased to Tk 2,999 million from Tuesday’s Tk 2,775 million. Trade deals stood at 83,849 against the previous day’s 85,167.
Of the issues traded, 126 advanced, 127 declined and 19 remained unchanged.
GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 271 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, MPETROLEUM, TITASGAS, NBL, LANKABAFIN, JAMUNAOIL, LAFSURCEML, IDLC and SQURPHARMA.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing up to 8,725 by gaining over 47 points.
Out of the issues traded, 72 gained, 104 declined and 18 remained unchanged.
On Wednesday, the benchmark indices at DSE and CSE rose 150 and 246 points respectively.
