CHITTAGONG: The administration is yet to decide whether the water of the Bahaddarhat pond would be removed to recover the missing bodies of the people killed in the Saturday’s Chittagong flyover-girder collapse.
Sources said though the district administration has officially declared an end of the salvage operation but the demand of removing water from the pond to search the bodies needs to be considered.
Meanwhile, deputy commissioner Abdul Manna couldn’t take any decision regarding the matter considering public sufferings and other crisis related to it.
Besides, he requested the locals to grant him two more days to consider the matter.
Abdul Manna said, “The decision will be taken on Thursday evening.”
Earlier in the morning, the rescue operation was officially declared closed after 60 hours.
On Monday, the death toll from Saturday’s a girder of an under construction flyover collapsed in the port city rose to 15 as one more body was recovered.
