DHAKA: Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Tuesday said the finance minister is perplexing the people to protect the corrupt ministers and their officers by making false statement in the parliament.
The senior leader of came up with the allegation while addressing a protest rally demanding release of BNP leader secretary Nasir Uddin Pintu held at the National Press Club.
Fakhrul alleged that plundering the country’s money in the name of quick rental, the government is trying now to manage fund from Malaysia at six percent interest rate.
But, the people of country would not accept the deal as they would be affected by its adverse impact.
Fakhrul urged the government to bring the corrupt people under trial and sign the deal with the World Bank.
Otherwise, in future, if BNP comes to power, the corrupt ministers will be tried, he added.
With Lalbagh Thana Juba Dal President Tasaddek Hossain Bablu in the chair, the rally was also addressed, among others, by former state minister Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu and Juba Dal president Muazzem Hossain Alal.
