DHAKA : Donna Summer, the American five-time Grammy Award winner disco queen who became an iconic figure after gaining prominence in the 1970s, has died at the age of 63.
Brian Edwards, Summer`s publist said that she died of cancer on Thursday morning in Naples, Florida.
Her family released a statement, saying that they "are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy".
"Words truly can`t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time,`` the statement read.
Summer had been living in Englewood, Florida, with her husband Bruce Sudano.
