COX’SBAZAR: Two youths were killed in separate lightning struck at Teknaf Thana of the district Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Alamgir, 13 son of Abul Kalam of Kutubdia Para under Huyaikang Union and Abu Bakar, 14, son of Abu Taher of Naitong Para Sadar union of the upazila.
Witnesses said thunderbolt struck Alamgir around 1:00pm in the day while he was returning home from local bazar, leaving him injured critically.
He succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital, witness added.
In another incident, Abu Bakar was killed as lightning struck him in Sadar union area around 1:00pm, said Teknaf Sadar union parishad chairman Nurul Alam.
