Bus plunge kills 10 in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ : Ten people were killed and 15 others injured when a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Raninagar area under Ullapara upazila of the district on Wednesday noon.

Of the deceased, eight were identified as Nur Hossain, 25 of Sirajganj, Golam Hossain, 25 of Zapra village, Alam Hossain, 30 of Kurigati village, Chan Mohammad, 36, Abdur Razzak, 30 and Kashem, 32 of Bogra, Aiyub Ali, 40 and Shah Alam, 35.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Officer-in-Charge of Salanga Thana Obaidul Haque said, “A Pabna-bound bus plunged into a road side ditch when the steering of the bus was broken, leaving 10 dead on the spot and 15 others injured.”

The injured were rushed to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital and police, with the help of locals, recovered the bus, he added.
