Tareq appointed AED of WB

DHAKA: Dr Mohammad Tareq, senior secretary of the finance ministry, has been appointed as Alternative Executive Director (AED) of the World Bank (WB).  

The appointment will be effective from August 14.

The disclosure came from a letter to senior secretary of public administration from economic relation department (ERD) signed by joint secretary Rownaq Jahan.

In the letter, the public administration ministry was requested to issue a gazette notification regarding the matter.

Earlier, the government requested the World Bank to appoint Dr Mohammad Tareq in the post.
