DHAKA: Sonali Bank authority has taken initiative to upgrade the security system for its branches across the country by installing night vision closed circuit cameras and vault alarm system.
Within next 15 days the bank will install night vision closed circuit cameras in inside and outside of the branches and 24 hours security alarm in vault room alarm system, says a press release on Wednesday.
The decision came as two heist incidents of the bank occurred in Kishoreganj and Bogra’s Adamdighi branches recently.
Sonali bank authority has already started discussion with security companies to appoint new manpower in ensuring more security.
The bank authority sent cautious letter to its all branches and formed 61 teams to monitor the branches.
On January 26, in a daring bank robbery, burglars tunneled into the vault of Sonali Bank’s main branch in Kishoreganj town and looted Tk 16.40 crore.
On Saturday evening, police found a tunnel through which robbers’ looted Tk 32.50 lakh from a Sonali Bank branch in Bogra.
