DHAKA: The central leaders of ruling Awami League, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have already selected venues for celebrating the Eid-ul-Fitr.
Some of them will celebrate their Eid in the capital while many in their respective home districts. Those who will be in the capital during Eid, have already visited their respective electoral areas before the vacation.
Awami League chief and also the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will exchange her Eid greetings with her party men, political leaders, diplomats and people of all walks at her official residence Gonobhaban in the city at about 9am on Eid day.
President Zillur Rahman and speaker of the national parliament Advocate Abdul Hamid will also celebrate Eid festival in Dhaka.
Meanwhile, presidium member Kazi Jafar Ullah, agriculture minister Matia Chowdhury, home minister Sahara Khatun, jute and textile minister Abdul Latif Siddique, presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun and post and telecommunication minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju will be staying in Dhaka during the festival.
Besides, LGRD minister Syed Ashraful Islam, state minister for housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan, state minister for law advocate Quamrul Islam, AL joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and organizing secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanok will celebrate Eid in the capital.
On the other hand, Awami League presidium member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury will be in Nagarkanda of Faridpur district during the Eid.
Among others, Tofail Ahmed is expected to celebrate Eid in Bhola, finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith in Sylhet, communications and railway minister Obidul Quader in Noakhali, food minister Abdur Razzak in Tangail, AL law affairs secretary Advocate Abdul Matin Khshru in Comilla, AFM Bahauddin Nasim in Madaripur, Khaled Mahmood Chowdhury in Dinajpur, Ahmed Hossain in Netrakona, Mesbah Uddin Siraj in Sylhet and BM Mojammel Haque in Shariatpur.
