DHAKA: Non-government registered primary schools teachers under the banner of Shikshak Karmachari Oikya Jote submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Sheik Hasina on Sunday.
A delegation led by Shikshak Karmachari Oikya Jote chairman principal Md. Selim Bhuiyan handed over the memo to the premier at his office in city’s Tejgaon after staging a rally in front of National press Club.
While addressing the rally, Md. Selim Bhuiyan said, “Despite of submitting memorandum to the president earlier, we did not get any positive result.”
Meanwhile, he threatened tougher action if their demands are not met within June 30.
He claimed that the present government has done nothing for the welfare of teachers during last three years.
Criticizing the PM, he said, “Although you claim yourself as the most successful Premier of the country, the teachers’ community announced you worthless.”
The teachers’ leader urged the government to regularize their jobs.
