Farroque asks PM

Prove BNP-govt corruption

DHAKA: Challenging Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque Sunday asked her to prove all corruptions committed during the regime of BNP-Jamaat alliance government.

The senior leader of the party came up with the challenge while addressing a sit-in demo in front of the National Press Club on Sunday morning.

Mentioning about the speeches that the premier delivered at the 6th Congress of Juba League on Saturday, he said, “Please prove all corruptions committed during the rule BNP-led four-party alliance, if you dare.”

Meanwhile, he urged the ruling party chief to compare the attitude of World Bank toward the BNP and Awami League governments.  

Besides, he requested the government to arrange the upcoming national elections under caretaker government system.

Earlier on Saturday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh is still carrying the stigma of corruptions of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Mentioning the BNP-Jamaat corruptions, the PM said World Bank (WB) stopped all types of fund in 2005 for Bangladesh over corruption allegation.
