DHAKA: A Dhaka court Monday sent 50 leaders and activists of opposition BNP and its front organization including Chhatra Dal former President Azizul Bari Helal to jail rejecting bail and remand pleas.
Earlier in the day, they were produced before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farhana Ferdous with 20-day remand plea in two vehicle torching cases.
Defense lawyer also placed bail petition to the court but the court sent them to jail rejecting bail and remand pleas.
On June 12, the court sent them to jail rejecting their bail pleas when they surrendered before the court.
On April 21 and 25, two separate vehicle torching cases were filed against the BNP leaders, activists.
