Rubbish! Nonsense! Innocent! - The Jargons in Politics

We had an outlandish political culture in our country which is not observed elsewhere in the world.  And somehow we have become adapted to this and to some extent we are comfortable to it.

It is good we are adapted to it. Or what could we do without being adapted to it. The political parties made it for us. We are now comfortable to it.

The culture of politics has become so out of the ordinary and it has made us so to make our life happier.  To make it more enjoyable, some terminology have been introduced in politics to disparage others; especially the opponent which are peculiar of its kind and which have never had happened in our politics ever.

With huge allegations of corruption on Padma Bridge project, after a long struggle to continue the position, the communication minister had finally to step down. The government did not care about the criticism about Abul Hossain. It cared a little about public perception on any matter. It also cares little about international criticism as well. Without accepting the positive and constructive feedback from internal and external critics, our government has rather shown its egotism to disapprove others.

However, Minister Abul Hossain had to step down though he was ‘innocent’ as claimed by himself. Thus, we got the word ‘innocent in politics. The ACC has also certified him as ‘innocent’. Beside this, the some top leaders of Awami League have called him ‘patriot’. Therefore, our political parties are now rich in ‘patriot innocent’ politicians.

Then the Railwaygate scam was staged in politics. Suranjit was as well certified as ‘innocent’. This time the ACC has found no corruption involved in the issue. But we did not get the answers of many of our question. However, we have got another innocent politician in politics.

But how they are innocent and patriot? If we look at our finance minister’s view about corruption we will find the answer.  BDT. 4000 crore money laundering does not fall within the government’s perception of corruption.  That’s why they are innocent and patriot. The amount is not that much to talk so much. The media has boosted it up. But we can’t imagine the amount to fall within corruption, though we can imagine how much corruption is going on. But we think, Muhit’s view of corruption is not like that of the government’s view. He was severely criticized by his own party-men. The most laudable thing is that the minister had to say sorry in the parliament.

He has acknowledged himself of loquacious and thought himself of most hated men of the country, though he is not so as we believe. There are other people who may be more detestable than him.

But to finance minister, all are rubbish and and nonsense. Dr. Younus is rubbish. Allegations made by the people in case of Dr. Younus are rubbish. International and national concern on Grameen Bank is rubbish. Therefore, we got the word ‘rubbish’ in politics. And moreover, we got the term ‘nonsense’ in politics as well.
Such practice of using jargons without considering their repercussion has never had happened in our politics. But we are using and adopting such type of jargons very indiscriminately to save or to belittle others. In doing so, they forget that it blemishes themselves at the end of the day.
