JCD new committee soon

DHAKA: The new central and Dhaka University committee of Jatiatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) will be constituted before Eid-ul-Fitr.
 
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is holding a series of meeting with the JCD leaders to form the committee.
 
A two and half hour long meeting was held at party’s chairperson’s Gulshan office on Saturday night with party Chief Khaleda Zia in the chair.
 
Later, the meeting was postponed till 10:30pm on Sunday, party sources said.
 
In the meeting, Khaleda Zia asked the JCD leaders to place opinions to form the JCD new committee before Eid-ul-Fitr.
 
She also hoped to mobilize the movement after Eid by forming the new committee.
 
In response, JCD leaders placed various opinions over the matter. They asserted they would abide by any decision taken by party leader Khaleda Zia.
 
Some 173 JCD leaders including its president Sultan Salauddin Tuku, general secretary Amirul Islam Khan took part in the meeting.
 
BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, student affairs secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie were present in the meet.
 
Earlier, Khaleda Zia held a meeting with JCD leaders on July 19 over the same issue.
