DHAKA: Investors witnessed fall in the benchmark indices of country’s bourses on Wednesday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 96 points to stand at 4,222 at the close on the day trading.
The volume of transactions also decreased to Tk 2527 million from Tuesday’s Tk 2892 million. Trade deals stood at 78375 against the previous day’s 89,991.
Of the issues traded, 30 advanced, 220 declined and 11 remained unchanged.
GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 185 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were BSCCL,BEXIMCO, KEYACOSMET, JAMUNAOIL,MPETROLEUM,TITASGAS, SQURPHARMA , MICEMENT and LANKABAFIN.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8175 by dropping over 155 points.
Out of the issues traded, 23 gained, 158 declined and 5 remained unchanged.
On Tuesday, the benchmark indices of DSE and CSE rose over 116 and 219 points respectively.
