Justice Buried- Justice Exhume

The couple laid to rest more than a month ago. The victims of the heinous crime finally buried watching the home minister’s vow to bring out the perpetrators within 48 hours. The murdered couple gone to sleep with a hope that justice will see the light. They maintained the view that law is blind but it can see even in the dark. So, sun will sure to rise.

But, again time elapses…like other incidents of crimes, it is singled out by newer events or incidents gathered on our state of affairs. And we forget the earlier one- so important or not, so national in character or not.

Colossal of examples are at hand within a very short span of time-two months or less. Sagar and Runi, the uprising and promising journos were about to rise to their heights. But their dream was interrupted by the reasons unknown to all they left behind.

Then the issue of Suranjit Sengupta’s railgate scandal came on stage. The first ever minister of the country became prey of corruption allegation (it is still a scandal for him until proved) for a petty cash amounting to 70 lacs. The huge money transaction is still an untold story to be revealed by our state-led investigation teams. Fortune did not favored him as it did not in his lifelong political career. This veteran parliamentarian had always to through questions to the ministers but never had the opportunity to answer those. However, the key question need to be answered—whether the story of the first ever minister of the first ever ministry that turn out  in the dead of the night will be let known to us or not?

Before divulging of those incidents and coverts related to those awkward truth, one of BNP top leader Ilias Ali has been missing since 17 April. He went missing also in the dead of that night. BNP observed three straight days strike which leaves at least four dead and indefinite injured. Yet, Ilias Ali is still missing. Many speculations are floating on keeping the citizenry bewildered at this disappearance.

What is disappearing from us? Ilias Ali, his driver or the driver of ex-minister’s APS? All those stories taking place at the dead of the night need to be made in public, least our hard earned democracy and rule of law is not disappeared!

Alas! Night is very long for us.

And what is buried with Sagar and Runi is justice-it is what we do not want to believe. We want to believe that the scale of justice is still in balance, not imbalanced.

We want no further disappearance of people, democracy and rule of law.

And we expect, last but not the least, justice will be exhumed along with Sagar and Runi. This time, they are being exhumed to ensure their own justice which we could not ensure for them. When they will be re-buried, let them rest in peace forever with the assurance of justice indeed, in fact.
