Locals besiege BGB camp in Dinajpur

HILI (DINAJPUR): Hundreds of locals are besieging the Basudebpur camp of Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) on Hili border in the district on Sunday morning protesting detention of a local youth.

Earlier, the BGB members held one Abu Russell, 30, along with a fire arms from Bishpara village at about 2am Sunday.

Centering the matter, hundreds of locals laid a siege to the BGB camp demanding release of Russell.

Confirming the metter, Basudebpur camp commander Belayet Hossain said, “Locals claimed that the detainee is not a criminal and demanded his release. The district BGB sector commander will take further decision.”
