RAMU, COX’S BAZAR: Opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia alleged that ruling Awami League is planning to resume power making alliance with Jamaat.
The opposition leader came up with the allegation while addressing a rally in Khajuri High School ground of Ramu on Saturday afternoon.
She said, “Awami League and Jamaat were cohorts and staged movements against BNP in 1995-96 and HM Ershad also made alliance with Jamaat in 1986.”
Raising question ‘wasn’t Jamaat war criminal then?’ she said, “We also want trial of war criminals but it should be neutral and international standard.”
The former premier also alleged that Awami League is trying to take Jamaat beside them and planning to hold election unitedly.
She also blamed administration, detectives and government for attack on Buddhists houses and temples in Ramu.
The rally was addressed, among others, by BNP acting secretary general of the party Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas and BNP leader Sukomal Barua.
