GAZIPUR: A legal notice was sent to UGC chairman, VC and Registrar of National University (NU) asking to terminate its 650 staffs recruited from 1992 to 2001.
Supreme Court Advocate M Lutfor Rahman, on behalf of former BNP lawmaker of Gazipur-5 constituency AKM Fazlul Haq Milon, sent the legal notice Tuesday.
Source said the university authorities had appointed some 650 staffs under University Act-1992 during the period of the then Awami League government without publishing any recruitment notice.
The notice reads: the authorities concerned would be sued if the staffs are not sacked within next 72 hours.
Earlier the NU authorities have sacked its 988 staffs as per High Court directive.
