School boy commits suicide for new dress

MADARIPUR: A school boy reportedly committed suicide at village Bhautoli under Kalkini upazila in the district on Friday evening for not getting new dress for the Eid.

The victim was identified as Salmin, 13, a class six student of Medhakul High School.

Family source said Salmin committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling of his room as his father failed to buy a new dress for him.

Kalkini thana OC Sahin Mandal confirmed the matter.
